At
the foot of the ancient Magaliesburg mountain range where once
elephant roamed, 70 kilometers from Johannesburg in the Western
Transvaal, lies a unique experience in African hospitality.
Five
individually decorated double-storey thatched cottages, each sleeping
2-4 people and with upstairs sundecks. Beautiful individually
decorated suites with brass beds, lovely linen, original art works,
fresh flowers and hand-crafted tea sets.
Listen
to the mournful call of the peacock in the heart of the Magalies
Valley - a natural bird sanctuary with 169 recorded bird species
to listen to. Explore and experience the nearby game farms on
an afternoon game drive or walking trails, trout fishing, horse
outride's, craft and koi farms. Small quaint antique and decor
shops conclude a wonderful day's outing.
For
those looking for some more culture a must is a visit to our brand
new restored restaurant, the Goblin's Cove and Faerie Winkle,
Magic Goblin Cuisine, architecture, sculptures and paintings.
Well
known sculptor Charles Gotthard has a beautiful studio at Out
of Africa, where he conducts art and sculpture workshops as well
as art therapy talks and workshops.
Nowhere
else can you be spoilt by such personal service, magic food and
wines.
At weekends a minimum 2-night stay applies. Breakfast can be taken
at our small restaurant or as a champagne brunch picnic basket
at the river.
For
dinner (separate charge) you may have ‘dinner baskets’ served
cosily in your suite with candles. In the summer time braai baskets
are available. As an alternative you can enjoy an a la carte dinner
at the Goblins Cove Fantasy Restaurant, just 11km's down the road.
Delicious
brunch picnics can be provided on the river for day visitors at
the weekend.
